Etisalat Sri Lanka.

Tigo mobile and its SMS text message service provider has been bought by Etisalat a UAE-based company with a global presence in 2010. Tigo was previously had the name Celltel. Now the mobile phone carrier is being called as Etisalat in Sri Lanka.

This service provider allows you to send and receive SMS messages their customers' mobile phones. The service allows customers to send local and international messages and allow them to receive local and international messages to their mobile phones.

There are four more mobile phone service providers other than the Etisalat. They are namely Dialog, Hutch, Mobitel and Airtel.

Etisalat Sri LankaEtisalat is now having more than 4.2 million customers at the beginning of the year 2012. And they offer post paid and pre-paid packages for the customers to choice. There packages have per second billing and totally incoming free service. These packages are coming with free incoming SMS facilities. In post paid SMS between their network phones are Rs.0.10/- and to non same network phones is Rs.0.25/- each.

There is no web based text message sending facility available at their website. But there is a Messenger which is an instant messaging application that can give you the possibility to chat with your public network contacts.

Sinhala SMS text messages.

The carrier allows you to send pre-designed text messages in Sinhala language for that community. Your mobile phone should be compatible to access this kind of SMS text service. Once are a client of the Etisalat send the following syntax (Syntax:: sin<xx> - xx - represents the allocated number for the relevant picture) to 900 to receive. This text service is also available in your SIM STK menu for easy access.

Also this carrier is selling the Apple iPhone 5 for Rs.165,000/- and 4S for Rs.104,000/- in Sri Lanka.
