SMS alerts are available for the travelers who are booking air tickets in the Sri Lanka's national carrier Srilankan.
At the time of booking the passengers are requested to provide their mobile phone numbers with the travel agent. So if there is any alerts regarding the passengers travel plan it will be immediately sent as an SMS short message to the passenger enabling the passenger to act according to the short message. This SMS Alert which is another value addition from SriLankan Airlines to enhance passenger convenience is available for the travelers who own mobile phones. Those who provide the fixed land lines won't get such messages in case if there are any alerts.
Those passengers with the international roaming facility too can get this service if they provide the correct number of their phone.
The national carrier Srilankan is now flying to nearly 44 destinations in 24 countries in Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and the Far East. It provides online booking facility too to its passengers.
