SMS News Alert to Sri lanka Mobitel Users.

SMS News alert is coming to Mobitel mobile phone users from Lanka Puvath, this was announced by Asoka Weerasinghe de Silva, the chairman of the Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel after signing a contract with Lankapuvath.
The Mobiel's 1.8 Million Sinhala and Tamil customers can get this beneifit, (specially for the rural folks to get news) can get this service with a two steps procedure.
To Get this service Mobitel user has to download the SMS application from the Mobitel WAP siteand has to type puwath in Sinhala if want "SMS Sinhala News Alert", or type seythikal if wanted "SMS Tamil News Alert" and send it to 2233.
The suscriber will have to pay a monthly fee of Rs 100 per month, and can can get news aleart anywhere in the world and is expected to deliver Audio and Video content after launching the 3G network soon to the suscribers who have the receiving facility.
