SMS and Mobile phone calling charges are reduced by Sri Lanka's biggest Mobile phone service provider Dialog telecom from December 2007. This is in celebration of themself reaching the 4 millionth customer. Dialog was the first mobile operator to provide the 3G service in Sri Lanka and in South Asia, now their SMS tariff and call charges will also be the lowest in this region.
Dialog to Dialog, 109 SMS will be just 1 US$ and 52 MMS will be 1 US$.Their famous Kit 5 Prepaid package will be increased to Kit 10, where the user can add 5 more desired frequently called numbers to get low SMS and call tariff. 218 Text messages can be sent for 1US$ from a Kit 10 user.
