Today Google again re-introduced the Gmail to mobile phone SMS facility through their Labs. If you have a Gmail account log in to it, you can find the "New Labs! Tasks & SMS " in red colour text. Open it and find the instruction on how to send SMS to mobile phones and get answers from them to your Gchat window. Go try it out.
