Recently some one had reveled to the thieves that there are SIM cards in side of the traffic light system. The SIM card was used to give a call to the maintenance office through a mobile phone alert about the failure of the traffic light system if failure occurs.
Up to now nearly 400 light systems were broken by the thieves to stele the SIM cards. Now the SIM cards were used to make calls and one of them had made $4,500 bill for the Government. Also the Government had to repair those traffic light systems at an extra cost.
South Africa in the African continent is well developed country in the region, built now it suffers like these problems.
