Sri lanka's leading Bank, Bank of Ceylon has started to offer mobile SMS based payment system to it's clients. To use this service it's clients must sign for this service in the nearest branch and they can make payments with 4 SMS messages using the assitance of the Indian Paymate system.

Already the Bank has asked the big retilers in western province like Singer, Abans and Odel to join them. Also the Sri Lankan Airlines too were invited to join the program. Currently the Srilanka's leading mobile service provider Dialog Telecom has joined hand with the bank and other mobile service providers are expected to join soon.

In the near future the customers can pay their Electricity, Water and telephone bills with this free service, which is provided to BoC customers. They can use the PayMate SMA based mobile payment technology with a normal mobile phone.
